Today's gift to you comes in the form of pictographs that date back many, many years: 十 右左

Well, lookie here:

左右

五十
三十
四十
七十

十一
十九
十五
十三
十四
十七

十八
十六

八十
六十

Whoa! That's a lot of words. Well, sort of. Really all they show is, that if you add the number ten into the words you know after all the previous numbers, you can count to 99! Just wait til tomorrow  when we are able to count to 999. Just think, we know enough kanji that we can make numbers that go way past being able to count them on our hands and toes.

The other kanji? Well lets just say that if you were in a car and you needed to turn. These two would let you go to the right or to the left. In essence making sure you don't continuously go straight until you either run our of gas or right out into the ocean. I would image you could get some good fishing in but not sure how sea worthy your car is. So please, for the sake of your car, remember these kanji.
